PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.— Plattsburgh scored three goals in the second period and added three more in the third to pull away for a 7-0 victory over visiting Buffalo State tonight in a SUNYAC contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cardinals opened the scoring with the lone goal of the first period.
Plattsburgh added a pair of special teams goals to start the second period, scoring on the power play and then while shorthanded. After another tally, the Cardinals lead 4-0 going into the second intermission.
Plattsburgh netted three more even-strength goals in the final frame to continue to pull away.
Trevor Micucci (Hamburg, NY/Connections Acad.) started in goal for the Bengals and allowed four goals to go with 19 saves.
Tyler Myers (Thornton, CO/Horizon) saw his first collegiate action in relief, surrendering three goals on eight shots.
Plattsburgh finished with a 31-21 shots advantage and was 1 for 3 on the power play, while Buffalo State finished 0 for 6.
FOR THE FOES
Seven different players scored for the Cardinals and Jimmy Poreda made 21 saves for the shutout.
