MORRISVILLE, N.Y.– Michael Anthony Guerrera (Montreal, QC/OHA) continued to wield a hot stick and Ben Butcher (Bellingham, WA/Langley) also scored as Buffalo State cashed in on just enough of its chances to claim a 2-1 victory over host Morrisville tonight in a SUNYAC contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Buffalo State found itself trailing 1-0 after the opening period despite outshooting Morrisville 10-5 due to a power-play goal in the middle of the frame.
Guerrera, who leads the nation in defensemen scoring, evened the score in the second period with his eighth of the season on the power-play with assists from Reid Bibb (Gaithersburg, MD/Gaithersburg) and Vadim Vasjonkin (Tallinn, Estonia).
Butcher’s second goal of the season from Zach Remers (Clarence, NY/Canisius) just 1:09 into the final frame proved to be the game-winner.
Ian Sylves (Sloan, NY/JFK) stopped all seven shots he faced in the third period, and finished the game with 19 saves.
Buffalo State outshot the Mustangs, 39-20.
