PLYMOUTH, N.H.—Buffalo State (0-1-1) outshot Nichols College (2-0) 43-20, but could not produce more than one early goal in a 2-1 loss today to conclude the Plymouth State Tournament.

Kara Goodwin (Avon Lake, OH/Avon Lake) opened the scoring for the Bengals with an unassisted marker just 2:34 into the contest, but Buffalo State would not light the lamp again.  Talia Hohmann evened the score for the Bison midway through the opening frame, and Lisa Coskren would cap the offense in the early going of the second stanza.

Buffalo State controlled the bulk of play from the opening faceoff through the final buzzer, despite needing to successfully kill of nine Nichols power-play opportunities.  The Bengals were 0-for-5 with the player advantage, including a chance to finish the game.  Buffalo State poured on the pressure, producing 15 third-period shots, but could not find the equalizer.

Junior Sarah Quigley (Canton, MA/National Sports Academy) started the game in goal for the Bengals, but allowed a pair of goals on 10 shots.  Freshman Megan Sackett (Williamsville, NY/AN Myer (ON)) made her first collegiate appearance midway through the second period and stopped all 10 shots she faced.

Buffalo State will open ECAC West play with a pair of games at Potsdam next Friday and Saturday.
