CORTLAND, N.Y.— Erin Gehen (W. Seneca, NY/W. Seneca West) scored twice and added an assist to become Buffalo State’s all-time leading scorer as the Bengals skated to a 3-1 victory over host Cortland today in a NEWHL contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Rachel Lenard (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) also factored into all three goals, scoring one and assisting on the other two.
Freshman Bri Gawronski (Dunkirk, NY/Mt. Mercy) made 26 saves for her second win in as many starts as a Bengal.
Gehen opened the scoring just 3:09 into the contest with assists from Lenard and Natasha Steinle (Morrison, CO/CIHA).
Lenard pushed the Bengals’ lead to 2-0 midway through the second period, set up by Christine Harris (Mountain Top, PA/Wyoming Seminary) and Gehen.
Cortland cut the lead in half four minutes later, by that would be the only time the Red Dragons would beat Gawronski.
Gehen sealed the win in the final minute with an empty-net tally.
Buffalo State finished with a 29-27 edge in shots on goal.

Miranda Kolb scored for Cortland, and Rachel Farmer made 26 saves.
NOTEWORTHY
Gehen brought her career point total to 82 points, moving into sole possession of the top spot on Buffalo State’s career scoring list, surpassing Emma Wadsworth who totaled 79 points from 2000-2004. Gehen also set the school record for career goals with 46, passing Wadsworth’s total of 45. Her 36 career assists are also a school record.
