Sophomore defenseman Michael Anthony Guerrera (Montreal, QC/OHA) became the second skater in Buffalo State history to earn All-America honors, being recognized third team by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA).

The business major led the SUNYAC and was sixth in the nation in defenseman scoring with 26 points on nine goals and 17 assists in 27 games. His nine goals and 26 points also set Buffalo State single-season records by a defenseman. Guerrera was also named first team All-SUNYAC.

He joins Todd Nowicki (2001-02) as the only other Buffalo State skater named All-American. Goalies Kevin Carr (2013-14) and Mike DeLaVergne (2016-17) also earned the honor.

Buffalo State finished the season 17-7-3, one win shy of matching the school’s single season record. The Bengals advanced to the SUNYAC semifinals for the seventh-consecutive season.
