The Buffalo Jr. Sabres scored three goals in the second period to pull away from the Burlington Cougars and clinch a 7-1 win.
Ryan Kuhn had two goals and one assist to lead Buffalo. Kuhn scored the first of his two goals at 10:26 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Buffalo. Josh Gabriel assisted on the tally. Kuhn’s next tally made the score 3-0 Buffalo with 6:34 left in the second period. The Jr. Sabres were on a disadvantage when Bray Crowder went off the ice for high sticking.
Burlington’s power play was ineffective against Buffalo’s penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.
