Buffalo loses a tough game against the Aurora Tigers in their first game back at the Northtown Center in over month. The final was 3-1 with the only Buffalo goal coming in the first period. Max Mikowski of Buffalo recorded his 100th career point in the OJHL with an assist on the goal.
The first period was a tough battle with Buffalo scoring first. The goal was scored by Michael Ederer assisted by Max Mikwoski and Nick DeSimone. Aurora answered at the end of the first with a power play goal to even the score at 1. The shots on goal after the first period were eleven for Aurora and eight for Buffalo.
The second period continued to be very defensive as neither team was able to find the back of the net. Shots on goal swung in Buffalo’s favor with another eight to Aurora’s five.
In the third period Aurora took the lead 2-1 and hung on for the win. Buffalo failed to score on a power play under three minutes left in the game, and shortly after the penalty expired Aurora added an empty net goal to seal the deal. Shots on goal were 13 for Aurora and five for Buffalo in the third, totaling 30 for Aurora and 21 for Buffalo. Buffalo’s goaltender was Joseph Pianta.
