Lockport could not stop Roc City’s Cameron Clark, who tallied a hat trick in a 10-8 win.
Clark got on the scoresheet 14:18 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:01 into the second and at 10:00 into the third.
Lockport’s seven penalties came back to haunt it, as Lockport let up four goals while on the penalty kill.
Roc City forced Lockport’s goaltenders to work between the pipes, totaling 41 shots and forcing 31 saves. Tim Schiess made five stops and Sal Stalteri made 26. Roc City excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Roc City found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Roc City averages 4.2 goals per game. Team’s forwards weren’t the only contributers offensively, and the team’s defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.
Roc City also got points from Brandon Corey, who also racked up one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, Jared Tam-Grimshaw, who also tallied one goal and three assists, Zach Bucholz, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Justin Allen, who also had two goals and one assist. Roc City also had goals scored by Matt Corey and Robert Vasta, who scored one goal each. More assists for Roc City came via Anthony DePetres, who had four and Aidan Conolly, Sam Cammilleri, and Cory Della Stua, who contributed one each.
Lockport was relatively well disciplined in the game, receiving only six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Lockport stayed under its season average of 37.0 penalties minutes per game this season. Lockport kept Roc City’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Ian Stahl made 28 saves on 36 shots. Lockport surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Lockport has scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign.
Lockport was led by Mark Friol, who racked up two goals and one assist. Friol scored the first of his two goals at 6:16 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lockport. Christopher Gasiewicz provided the assist. Friol’s next tally made the score 3-2 Lockport with 6:41 left in the first period. Gibson Stuart picked up the assist. Lockport additionally got points from Jake Andriaccio, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Lockport included Frank II Vecchio, who had two and Fankie Bodami, Brendan McFall, and Dylan Jenkins, who scored one goal each. In addition, Lockport received assists from Jordan Pocobello, who had one.
Roc City incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Lockport ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Stuart was ejected from the game.
