Junior forward Ralph Cuddemi (Concord, Ontario) of the Canisius College hockey team collected Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week accolades on Tuesday after leading the Griffs in a weekend series against AIC.
Cuddemi recorded four points on three goals and one assist as Canisius earned a 3-1 victory before the schools played to a 4-4 draw. In Saturday’stie, Cuddemi became the first player in the country to net his second hat trick of the season. He scored the final three goals of the game to help Canisius earn a point for the first time in program history when trailing by four goals in a game.
The junior now leads the Griffs with nine goals during the 2014-15 campaign to go along with eight assists for 17 points. Cuddemi was also named Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week on Oct. 21 after netting his first career hat trick at Army, leading the Griffs back from a 4-1 deficit for a 6-4 victory.
In 95 career games at Canisius, Cuddemi has totaled 59 points, 28 goals and 31 assists.
Cuddemi and the Griffs finished the first half of the season with a 6-6-5 record and 5-4-4 mark in Atlantic Hockey play. The team returns to action on Jan. 2 with a road non-conference series at Maine.
