The Canisius College hockey team has added forward Cody Boyd (Johnstown, Pa.) to the roster, announced by head coach Dave Smith. Boyd joins the Griffs from the Coquitlam Express of the BCHL.

Boyd is eligible to begin playing for Canisius in December 2015 after enrolling at another school in the fall of 2014. He spent the last year and a half with the Express, totaling 34 points, nine goals and 25 assists in 92 career games. A team captain, Boyd helped lead Coquitlam to a BCHL Championship during the 2013-14 campaign.

In 38 contests with the team this season, Boyd totaled 16 points, five goals and 11 assists.

In addition, Smith announced that junior goalie Adam Harris and sophomore forward Jack Hidi are no longer members of the Golden Griffin roster. Harris, an accounting major, will remain at Canisius to focus on academics, while Hidi has joined the London Knights of the OHL.

Canisius, currently on a five-game unbeaten streak, is in second place of the Atlantic Hockey standings with a 9-4-5 conference record. The Griffs return to the ice on Thursday, beginning a two-game series at local rival Niagara.
