Clinton, NY – Freshman Joey Vocino (Pickering, ON) found the back of the net for the first time but the SUNY Canton men’s hockey team dropped a 5-1 decision to host Hamilton College on Friday evening.

The Continentals (2-1-0) broke a scoreless tie at 18:20 of the first when Xavier Morin lit the lamp for the first time as Hamilton led by one after one. Brandon Willett and T.J. Daigler buried goals 1:08 apart to help the hosts open up a 3-0 advantage after 40 minutes of play.
Vocino buried an unassisted marker midway through the third to get the Roos (1-7-1) within two. Jon Stickel and Scott Vazquez slotted their first goals of the season 57 seconds apart to add insurance tallies en route to the 5-1 final.

Josh Erickson (Woodbury, MN) made 23 stops in the start, while Louie Puig (Chicago, IL) turned aside two shots over the final 6:34. Evan Buitenhuis stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced for the Continentals.
