Over the long Blizzard weekend….I mean MLK Weekend the Finger Lakes Regional Hockey Association- Central Outlaws had teams in Cleveland and Rochester taking part in the Rock-n-Roll and Empire State Cup Tournaments. Congratulations go out to all our skaters and coaches (and parents for getting them to the rinks safely). It was a successful weekend for our Outlaws as they were able to bring home two Championship banners/trophies.
The 16U team went 3-1 in Rochester and brought home the banner. They competed against Hagerstown Bulldogs (MD), Kanata Blazers (ON) and the Pittsburgh Aviators (PA). In the Championship game they faced the Pittsburgh Aviators who had just beaten them the night before 4-3. The Outlaws came in seeking revenge from their lone loss in the Tournament. At the sound of the buzzer they got just what they wanted with a solid 3-2 win, great job team!
The 12U team was in Cleveland and competed in the highest 12U bracket out of 44 other PW teams. The team went 3-0-1 and did not give up a single goal all weekend. They faced the Bay County Blizzards (MI), Indian Chiefs (PA), Lake Erie Panthers (OH) and the Steel City Renegades (PA). The Outlaws took on The Steel City Renegades in the Championship game who were undefeated in the tournament so far and had only 1 loses on their season. The boys played their hearts out and came away with a 3-0 win and the trophy!
