Gebhard, Lanteigne, and Curlett Earn CHA Weekly Honors
After a handful of non-conference victories, and several standout performances, College Hockey America has announced the weekly award winners for the week ended October 22, 2017.
Player of the Week
Jaycee Gebhard – Robert Morris
Sophomore, Forward – Plenty, SK/Notre Dame Hounds
Gebhard led all CHA players with seven points over the weekend. She had a five-point effort – one goal and four assists – in Robert Morris’ 11-0 win at Brown on Friday. She then added two assists, helping RMU erase a 2-0 deficit and pull out a 3-2 victory on Saturday.
Goalie of the Week
Terra Lanteigne – RIT
Sophomore, Goalie – Hatchet Lake, NS/Metro Boston Pizza
Lanteigne was brilliant in her first appearance of the season, a 2-1 overtime win over Yale on Saturday, as she stopped 40 of 41 shots. Lanteigne was especially stout in the third period, stopping all 18 shots she faced including a handful of grade-A chances. She recorded a .976 save percentage in the win.
Rookie of the Week
Emily Curlett – Robert Morris
Freshman, Defense – Lapeer, MI/Little Caesars 19U
Curlett scored her first collegiate points in Robert Morris’ 11-0 win over Brown on Friday. She tallied two goals and an assist, all career firsts. She was one of four different Robert Morris players to collect her first goal in Friday’s game. Curlett also totaled a plus-four rating and four blocks in the two games against Brown.
