HAVERHILL, Mass. – For the second time this season junior Carsen Chubak was named Atlantic Hockey Association Goalie of the Week after making 67 stops during the two-game set against ECAC opponent Clarkson this past weekend.
The junior pushed aside a career-high 44 shots in the 2-0 win on Friday, for his first shutout victory of his career. Chubak added another 23 stops in the 4-4 draw the following day after that included two in extra time. The Prince Albert, Sask. native took over goaltending duties about midway through the first period, allowing only one goal in 57.24 minutes of play.
Chubak is 2-1-3 so far this season, making 194 saves for a 1.64 goals-against average and .951 save percentage.
Chubak and the Purple Eagles will jump back into conference play against the UConn Huskies on Friday, Nov. 2 and Saturday, Nov. 3. Faceoff for both contests are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. from Dwyer Arena.
