After a solid collegiate career with the Clarkson University Hockey team, Kevin Tansey ’16 is making an impression in the professional ranks Tansey, a standout defenseman for the Missouri Mavericks, has been selected to participate in the 2017 CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic.
The 2017 CCM / ECHL All-Star Classic presented by I LOVE NY will feature the host Adirondack Thunder taking on the ECHL All-Stars in a non-traditional format featuring 5-on-5, 4-on-4, and 3-on-3 play, as well as a Skills Competition (Puck Relay, Hardest Shot, Fastest Skater) to highlight the talents of both teams.
The game will air LIVE exclusively on NHL Network on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at 8 p.m. ET from the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, N.Y.
A 6-4, 220-pound defenseman from Hammond, ONT, Tansey has skated in 16 games with Missouri this season, recording 10 points on two goals and eight assists along with posting a +8 plus/minus rating. Tansey played 19 games with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves to start the 2016-17 season. He began his professional career last March, playing 11 games in the AHL with the Binghamton Senators.
Through 151 games (2011-16) with the Golden Knights, Tansey scored 12 goals and 22 assists.
