Clarkson was in control from the start against Brown (4-12-3, 2-9-2), winning its fifth straight over the Bears. Sophomore Brett Gervais, with one goal and one assist, paced a balanced offensive outing, which saw 12 different players record a point. Sophomore defenseman Kelly Summers and Ben Dalpe tallied their first goals of the season to help the Knights reach five goals for the second game in their past three outings. Senior captain Paul Geiger and junior Perry D’Arrisso also scored.

The Knights took a 2-0 first-period lead on a pair of goals 19 seconds apart. At 9:36, Summers fired in a shot from the top of the right circle that beat Brown goaltender Connor Maher who was screened in front by junior Jordan Boucher. Gervais and Nic Pierog assisted.

Clarkson came right back when Geiger jumped into the rush from the blueline and finished off a 2-on-1 with junior A.J. Fossen at 9:55. Senior Christian Powers also assisted with a pass out of the Clarkson end to Fossen at center ice.

The Knights added to their lead late in the middle frame when Boucher stole a Brown pass in the neutral zone and skated in on another odd-man rush. Gervais took a pass from Boucher at the top of the crease and knocked in his second goal of the weekend and fourth of the season at 15:42 for a 3-0 Clarkson lead.

Clarkson continued to roll in the final stanza adding two more scores. Dalpe finished off a pass from senior Jeff DiNallo at 4:35 and D’Arrisso connected for his third goal of the season off an assist from senior Pat Megannety at 11:36

The Knights outshot Brown 28-19. Clarkson was 0-of-3 on the power play and killed off the Bears’ lone man-advantage opportunity.

Lewis posted his fifth career shutout with eight first-period saves, five more in the middle frame and six stops over the final 20 minutes.
