ALBANY, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey has announced its women’s weekly award winners, and Caitrin Lonergan (Clarkson), and Michelle Pasiechnyk (Clarkson) have been honored for the week ending January 31, 2021.
Player of the Week: Caitrin Lonergan
Lonergan (Sr. – Roslindale, Mass.) was nothing short of spectacular in this weekend’s Top-10 battle against No. 5 Colgate, scoring all four goals in Clarkson’s sweep. She scored twice in a 2-0 win on Friday, before burying two more, including the third-period game-winner in a 2-1 victory on Sunday. Lonergan now ranks first in the league, and second in the nation with 10 goals (0.91 goals per-game).
MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week: Michelle Pasiechnyk
Pasiechnyk (Fr. – Ottawa, Ont.) picked up a pair of huge wins against No. 5 Colgate this weekend, allowing just one goal in the process. In total, she stopped 63 of 64 shots she faced for a 0.50 GAA and .984 save percentage.
Adirondack Health Rookie of the Week: Michelle Pasiechnyk
Since taking over between the pipes for Clarkson, Pasiechnyk has established herself as one of the top goaltenders in not only the league, but the nation. She currently ranks in the top-10 nationally in GAA (7th – 1.37), save percentage (6th – .956), and winning percentage (10th – .714). She’s stopped more than 30 shots in each of her past four games.
