HAMILTON- Sophomore Tim Harrison staked Colgate to a 1-0 lead early in the second period, but Harvard responded with six unanswered goals to post a 6-1 victory in ECAC Hockey action Saturday at Starr Rink.
Harrison notched his fifth goal of the season at the 2:06 mark of the second period to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead, only to see the Crimson respond with goals from Brian Hart and Jimmy Vesey to take a 2-1 advantage into the third.

Harvard put the game out of reach in the third, notching four goals, including a pair of tallies from Kyle Criscuolo, to determine the final margin.

Steve Michalek made 30 save in goal for Harvard as he picked up his 12 win of the season. Sophomore Charlie Finn got the start for Colgate and recorded 25 stops before being replaced by freshman Zac Hamilton midway through the third.

How It Happened
– After a scoreless first period, Colgate took a 1-0 lead 2:09 into the second when Harrison knocked home a rebound from the just in front of the left post for his fifth goal of the season. Junior Ryan Johnston and freshman Evan Peterson were credited with assists on the goal.
– Harvard tied the game at 1-1 when Hart put home a feed from Tyler Moy from the middle of the slot for his sixth goal of the campaign. Hart’s tally came at the 9:20 mark of the middle period.
– Vesey gave the Crimson its first lead of the contest when he converted a rush while Harvard was on the power play. Criscuolo and Michalek were credited with assists on the man-advantage strike.
– Criscuolo increased the Harvard margin to 3-1 just 83 seconds into the third as he notched the Crimson’s second power-play tally of the evening. Vesey and Victor Newell earned assists on the strike.
– Vesey potted his second goal of the evening in the seventh minute of the third to make it 4-1 Harvard. Crisculol and Moy assisted on Vesey’s team-leading 17th goal of the season, which came with 6:46 gone in the frame.
– Eddie Ellis stretched the Raiders margin to 5-1 with his second goal of the season on a deflection with 8:13 elapsed in the third. Clay Anderson and Victor Newell earned the two assists on Ellis’ strike.
– Harvard closed out the scoring at the 16:34 mark of the third as Criscuolo scored on an empty net for his second goal of the evening. Vesey picked up the lone assist on the play for his fourth point of the night.
