CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Despite senior Adam Dauda notching a game-tying power play tally, the Colgate men’s hockey program dropped a 6-1 decision at Harvard on Friday evening.

Although the Raiders were able to have a quick offensive presence through the start of the opening period, Harvard was first to get on the board midway through with a backhanded pick at the puck. Before the period ended though, Dauda converted on the Raiders first power play opportunity of the night to tie the game.

Harvard’s momentum stemmed from scoring on the power play with just 8.1 remaining in the first period. The Crimson came out with a driven offense in the second period, and was able to produce two additional goals with the man advantage before the final buzzer.

Colgate continued to have looks in the Crimson’s zone, including a breakaway by defenseman Trevor Cosgrove and a pair of chances that rang the pipe, but Harvard was able to stifle the Raiders efforts for the eventual 6-1 final.

COLGATE SCORING PLAYS
• Period 1 | 15:18 – The Raiders needed just 21 seconds on the power play to tie a one-goal game as Nick Austin weaved the puck behind the Harvard net and fed it to McKechney at the hashmarks. Adam Dauda made for a quick pick at the twine from the slot for his second goal of the season and tied the game at 1-1.

STATISTICAL STANDOUTS
• Senior Adam Dauda’s tally was his second goal of the season overall, as well as second power play goal of the year. Snapping a nine-game scoring drought, it marks his first goal since Oct. 13 against New Hampshire.

• The second assist on Dauda’s goal marked defenseman Nick Austin’s second apple of the season. The sophomore now holds two points on the year.
• Time between the pipes was split as freshman goaltender Andrew Farrier came in for 32:46 of action, where he made 20 saves with just two goals against.
• By scoring with the man advantage, it snaps a special teams drought for Colgate’s first power play goal since Nov. 3 against Yale.
