Colgate’s Altmann Set For Four Nations Tournament With Switzerland

PRIBRAM, Czech Republic – No. 4/4 Colgate women’s ice hockey defender Livia Altmann (Arosa, Switzerland) and the Switzerland Women’s Hockey National Team are set to compete in a Four Nations Tournament from Dec. 14-16 at the Winter Stadium in Pribram.

This tournament is the part of Switzerland’s preparations for the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, in which Altmann will be competing for the second time in her career.

Altmann, an assistant captain for the Raiders’ squad, is the captain of the Swiss National Team for a third straight season.

Switzerland will face Norway at 2 p.m. local time on Thursday afternoon followed by another afternoon showdown with France on Friday afternoon. Switzerland will wrap up the three-game set against the host Czech Republic at 4 p.m. local time on Saturday evening.

Altmann is one of two current NCAA Ice Hockey players currently on the Swiss National Team as St. Cloud State goaltender Janine Alder is also on the squad. Altmann and Alder squared off in the opening weekend of the season, with Altmann picking up a 3-0 win over Alder and the Huskies in the first game of the season.

Altmann has two goals and two assists for four points in the 2017-18 season, playing in all 19 games so far. She also owns a +8 plus/minus rating and has blocked 10 shots.

The Swiss will compete in the Nations Cup in Füssen, Germany from Jan. 2-6, 2018 in their final test before beginning play at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea from Feb. 9-22.
