HAMILTON – Colgate women’s ice hockey head coach Greg Fargo was named the USCHO.com Women’s Division I Coach of the Year, as announced on Wednesday.
USCHO.com is the second organization to recognize Fargo. He was previously named the 2017-18 CCM/American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Women’s Division I National Coach of the Year at the Frozen Four Banquet on March 15.
In his sixth season at the helm of the program, the Raiders had a record-setting year with a program-best 34 wins. The Raiders won 20 home games at Class of 1965 Arena, the most home wins in Division I men’s or women’s college hockey.
The Raiders recorded several program firsts this season as they won the ECAC Hockey regular season title, advanced to the conference championship game, earned an NCAA Tournament Bid, advanced to the Frozen Four and played in the National Championship game.
Four players earned All-ECAC Hockey recognition this season. Lauren Wildfang was named to the first team, Jessie Eldridge to the second team, and Julia Vandyk and Shae Labbe were tabbed to the third team.
