HAMILTON – For his efforts in leading Colgate to the Three Rivers Classic crown, sophomore Charlie Finn has been named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week, league officials announced on Tuesday.

The award marks the second time this season that the North Vancouver, B.C., has been recognized with the award. He was honored in October after posting back-to-back shutouts of Northeastern at Starr Rink.

Finn was named MVP of the four-team tournament held at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh as he stopped 56 of 58 shots faced in leading the Raiders to victories over Western Michigan and No. 19 Robert Morris.

Finn opened the event by recording 28 saves in a 2-1 victory over the Broncos in the tournament opener on Dec. 29. In the championship contest the following evening, Finn turned aside 26 shots as he and the Raiders held the Colonials to one goal for just the second time this season to cruise to a 6-1 victory and the Three Rivers Classic title.

For the season, Finn has fashioned a 1.97 goals against average and a .927 save percentage in 17 appearances. He has allowed two goals or less in 12 of those contests, highlighted by three shutouts.

No. 17 Colgate (11-6-1; 3-2-1 ECAC) returns to action Friday when it travels to Clarkson for a 7 p.m. contest at Cheel Arena.
