Hobart College sophomore Alexander Connal (Simsbury, Conn.) was named the NEHC Co-Goaltender of the Week as announced by the conference office today. Junior Jonas Toupal (Vclena, Czech Republic) was also named to the honor roll.
The Statesmen also moved up one spot to No. 8 in the D3hockey.com poll and remained at No. 10 in the USCHO.com poll after a 1-1-0 opening weekend.
Connal played all 60:52 in goal, stopped 18 shots and only allowed one goal in a 2-1 overtime win over No. 7 Oswego State on Sunday afternoon. It was his first start this season.
Toupal scored both of Hobart’s goals in the win over the Lakers. He scored his first goal on a power play 1:29 into the second period and added the game winner just 52 seconds into overtime.
