ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell junior defenseman Alyssa Gagliardi has been named to the roster of the U.S. Women’s National Team training camp, USA Hockey announced on Monday.
Gagliardi, who was one of 36 athletes attending the U.S. Women’s National Team Winter Camp in Blaine, Minn., over winter break, is one of 28 players invited for the U.S. Women’s National Team Training camp. The training camp will take place in Lake Placid from March 25-31.
From there, USA Hockey will cut the group down to 23 players who will compete with the U.S. Women’s National Team at the Women’s World Championship in April in Ottawa, Ontario.
Gagliardi and the rest of the training camp roster will participate in daily practices, testing and off-ice training. Gagliardi is one of 10 defensemen on the roster and is the only player from North Carolina.
Other current ECAC Hockey players to make the list include Harvard’s Michelle Picard and Lyndsey Fry and Quinnipiac’s Kelly Babstock.
