ITHACA, N.Y. – After a stellar regular season that saw her rack up a conference-high 28 goals and 55 points, Brianne Jenner has been named a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award, USA Hockey announced on Thursday.

Jenner, a junior forward, has been the driving force behind the Big Red’s offense all season. She twice has scored six points in a game and had an active 13-game point-scoring streak in the middle of the season.

Jenner was also selected to go to the Meco Cup to play in Germany with the Canadian Under-22 National Team in January, and she was with Canada’s national team in November for the 4 Nations Cup.

The junior is currently fourth in the country with 2.04 points per game, third in the country with 1.04 goals per game, ninth with 1.00 assists per game and tied for ninth with five game-winning goals. She was a huge part of Cornell’s fourth consecutive Ivy League and ECAC Hockey regular season championships, and her scoring prowess has helped the Big Red to the fourth-highest goals-per-game total in the country.

Jenner was one of four Big Red players selected as initial nominees for the award, along with seniors Laura Fortino and Lauriane Rougeau and sophomore Jillian Saulnier. Rougeau has been a nominee all four years of her college career, while Fortino was a nominee in 2010 and 2012 and a top-10 finalist last season. Along with Fortino, Rebecca Johnston ’12 was a top-10 nominee last year.

USA Hockey will announce three finalists for the award on March 7, and the award will be presented to the winner at a banquet at this year’s Frozen Four in Minneapolis on March 23.
