Sophomore women’s ice hockey goalie Rachael Farmer (Grand Island/Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles) and freshman men’s ice hockey forward Michael Faliero (West Seneca/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) have been named the SUNY Cortland Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 12.
Michael Faliero
Michael finished with a goal and three assists in a weekend home series versus Morrisville. The SUNYAC Rookie of the Week, he scored a goal and assisted on two others in a 5-2 win over the Mustangs Saturday and notched one assist the previous evening for his first collegiate point.
Rachael Farmer
Rachael recorded a 0.95 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage in a win and tie versus Potsdam. The Northeast Women’s Hockey League Goalie of the Week, she made 18 saves and kept the Bears off the board for the final 61:02 in a 2-1 overtime road win, followed by a 27-save effort in a 1-1 tie at home.
