Cortland junior Deanna Meunier (Parsippany, NJ/New Jersey Rockets) has received the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West Women’s Goaltender of the Week award for the week ending February 15.

Meunier posted her second shutout of the season by stopping all 32 shots she faced in Cortland’s 1-0 victory over Buffalo State on Sunday afternoon. With the Red Dragons leading late in the game, Meunier was able to keep the Bengals off the scoreboard as Buffalo State had a power play and an extra skater with its net empty for a two-player advantage.

The Red Dragons look to clinch the first ECAC West playoff appearance in program history this coming weekend with two games at William Smith Saturday and Sunday. Cortland currently holds the sixth and final playoff position with 12 points, one ahead of Potsdam and three better than both Neumann and Chatham.

The ECAC West women’s ice hockey conference, which began in the 2001-02 season, consists of Cortland, Buffalo State, Chatham, Elmira, Neumann, Oswego, Plattsburgh, Potsdam, Utica and William Smith.
