SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators fell 3-2 to the Syracuse Crunch in their final visit this season to the Onondaga County War Memorial Arena.
Matthew Peca opened the scoring at the 1:04 mark of the first period in his first game back after sitting out 11 games with an injury. Danny Hobbs answered back with a goal a little over four minutes later for his second of the year with assists from Max McCormick and Buddy Robinson. Slater Koekkoek made it a 2-1 game at the midway point of the period before Mike Angelidis gave the host a two goal lead three minutes later. Binghamton went to the locker room trailing 3-1 despite outshooting Syracuse 10-9.
Robinson notched the only goal in the middle frame for his 13th of the year at the 9:28 mark. Mark Fraser sent a pass to Michael Kostka who ripped a shot from the right point that Robinson deflected past Andrei Vasilevskiy to make it 3-2. The B-Sens went the final intermission leading shots 11-8 and trailing by one goal.
Despite outshooting the Crunch during the final frame, the B-Sens were unable to tie up the game and fell 3-2.
Matt O’Connor picked up the loss stopping 21 shots faced while Vasilevskiy had 29 saves in the win.
