Fredonia, NY — Erie Community College ice hockey defeated Fredonia State on the road on Sunday, 5-3. ECC won using a well rounded scoring attack with five Kats scoring in the victory.
The Kats trailed 1-0 after the first period but the second period would be all Kats. First, Anthony Cybulski tied the game for the Kats just over three minutes into the period. Brendan McFall added a goal at the 16:21 mark to give the Kats a 2-1 lead going into the third period.
Two more quick goals from the Kats to start the period put the Kats in control of the game. Timothy Pellittieri scored short handed, followed by a goal from Garrett Miller to put the Kats up 4-1. Fredonia would get another goal before Michal Swacha would add the fifth Kats goal. Fredonia scored a power play goal with under a minute to play but it was too little, too late and the Kats held on for a 5-3 win. Goaltender Chase Ford stopped 22 shots in the win, while Cameron Mentel added three assists for Erie Community College.
ECC will return to the ice on December 8th when they travel to Mercyhurst College. Faceoff is 9PM.
