The Elmira Junior Enforcers are proud to announce that the team will call Elmira College’s Murray Athletic Center its home for the 2021-22 season. Known commonly around Elmira as “The Domes”, the USPHL Premier club will hold all practices, and play its home games at the facility. The team played its 2020-21 season at First Arena, but the recent sudden closure forced the team to look elsewhere.
“We are excited that we will be able to stay here and play in the Elmira area,” said head coach Glen Patterson. “After calling First Arena home professionally for the last three years, it was disappointing we weren’t able to continue to play there this season, but I look forward to a fresh start at the Domes and know that the fans will enjoy it! Even though we are moving out of downtown Elmira we are lucky to still have one of the best facilities in the league.”
“Playing in the Domes will give our guys a chance to see how the Elmira College team practices and what it takes to get to the next level” added assistant coach/director of scouting Nick Pagliacci. “It also gives our players a loud home ice advantage and we invite fans to come out to our games.”
“We thank Elmira College for partnering with us so that we could keep operating locally,” said team President Tim Kolpien. “We were considering other venues in upstate New York and
there were some time-consuming hurdles but the Elmira College staff jumped in to help us find a local solution.”
The Junior Enforcers will open the rapidly approaching 2021-22 USPHL Premier season on the road at Cornerstone Arena versus the Buffalo Stampede Friday, October 1st at 7pm before coming home to Murray Athletic Center on Saturday October 2nd for the home opener at 7pm.
