ELMIRA, N.Y.—No. 3 Elmira scored a pair of early goals and pulled away for a 5-0 victory over visiting Buffalo State today in an ECAC West contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Soaring Eagles opened the scoring just 1:13 into the contest and pushed the lead to 2-0 just over five minutes later.
Elmira added a pair of unassisted goals in the second period and scored once more in the final frame.
The Soaring Eagles held a 45-18 advantage in shots on goal and finished 1 for 4 on the power play, compared to 0 for 2 by the Bengals.
Justine Silva (Baldwin Park, CA/Arroyo) finished with 40 stops for Buffalo State.
FOR THE FOES
Shannon Strawinski, Sarah Hughson and Anna Tude each had a goal and an assist for Elmira.
Maddy Jerolman and Katie Granato also scored for the Soaring Eagles.
Kalcey Crawford finished with 18 saves for the shutout.
