The Lockport Express return home this week after a very successful weekend against rival Wilkes-Barre Miners. It all started on Friday September 18th with a 7-4 win that saw scoring come from a variety of different players including Dylan Jenkins who had 2 goals and both Logar brothers each chipped in a goal.
The momentum continued into Saturday September 19th where the Express dominated the Miners with a 10-1 win. Two Express players registered hat tricks including Andrew Logar and Nick Wilcox who registered a total of 5 points on the day (3g,2a). The Express came out hot from the drop of the puck and didn’t stop scoring 4 goals in the first.
Finally on Sunday the Express cooled down a bit but still kept the winning train going with a 5-2 win to cap off a successful weekend. Returning player Justin Durkee had a great game with a goal and assist to cap of a successful weekend for him that saw him burst out offensively.
The Express hope to carry this momentum into this weekend against the New York Aviators and Jersey Shore Wildcats which will be a tough test for the Express returning home. On Friday the 25th is Blue and Gold night in Lockport where if you wear your Lockport high school colors you get in for $2.00. On the 26th its Veterans night which will celebrate our nation’s hero’s and any veterans will a guest will get in for free. And on the 27th we’re having a food drive so if you bring in any non-parishable food you get $1.00 off you’re ticket.
Also the Lockport Express 18U team will be traveling to Blaine, Minnesota this week to play in the NAPHL showcase! The games will be broadcast on FASTHockey so you can support your Lockport Express teams from states away!
