Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Syracuse defeated Lockport in a shootout 3-2 (2-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams. Lockport got a shootout goal from Ryan Logar. In addition to the clincher, Syracuse got a shootout goal from Nate Walker.
Syracuse came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Syracuse trailed 2-1 after a short handed goal by Lockport’s Logar at 17:14 in the third period. Syracuse knotted things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Tucker Bartenslager at 19:35 in the third period.

Lockport was unable to stop Syracuse from sending pucks towards the net, and Syracuse eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Syracuse was helped by Hunter Soden, who finished with one goal. Soden scored 18:41 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Syracuse. Walker assisted on the tally. Syracuse additionally got points from Bartenslager, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Syracuse were Raymond Rowe, who had one.

Lockport did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Lockport averages 4.1 goals per game. Lockport’s offense rang up 45 shots on Syracuse’s net.
