MONTREAL — Two years after he was first eligible, 20-year-old defenseman and Fairport, NY native Hunter McDonald was selected in the sixth round, 165th overall, by the Philadelphia Flyers at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft in Montreal.
Now at 6’3, 207 lb., McDonald has added three years of junior hockey to his resume after his high school days. The last two of those has been in the USHL with Omaha before being dealt to Chicago midway through this season.
The left-shot has 19 points over a combined 90 games in the top junior circuit in the country.
He is committed to play at Northeastern University this fall.
