OSWEGO, NY – It will be Frontier/Lake Shore/Orchard Park (FLOP) taking on Salmon River for the 2018 NYS Girls Ice Hockey Championship on Sunday. The game is scheduled to be played at 1 p.m. at the Marano Campus Center on the SUNY Oswego campus.
In the first game of the semi-finals FLOP downed Skaneateles, 6-3. Emily Kromer lead the way for FLOP with two goals.
Also scoring for FLOP was Brooke Becker, Jessica Peters, Mary Kromer and Gabby DeMeo. Maggie Spyche was solid in net for FLOP stopping 14 of the 17 shots she faced.
Leading the way in scorning for the Lakers was Megan Teachout with two goals and Rachelle Cain.
Outstanding player of the game for Skaneateles was goalie Jessica Smith and for FLOP was Tori Fadeley.
In the Salmon River vs. Beekmantown contest, won by Salmon River, 2-1, all the scoring for the game was done in the first period. Brycelan Sunday opened the scoring for Salmon River to make it 1-0.
Kayla Cunningham made it 2-0 for Salmon River. Bailey River then cut the lead in half, scoring for Beekmantown. Periods two and three were scoreless.
Player of the game for Beekmantown was Kelsie Baker. Player of the game for Salmon River was Lexi Lazore.
