The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres and the AHL’s Rochester Americans, announced today that defenseman Paul Geiger has been recalled by the Amerks.

Geiger, 24, is in his first full professional season, after a four-year career at Clarkson University from 2012-16, where he was a teammate with current Jackals forward Todd Christian. After being reassigned by Rochester Friday, he made his ECHL debut this weekend with the Jackals, appearing in two games against the Norfolk Admirals. In his debut with the Jackals, Geiger scored his first ECHL goal.

He served as the captain at Clarkson as a junior and senior and in his 150 career games, the Stouffville, Ontario native put up 51 points (13g, 38a). After finishing his senior season in 2015-16, Geiger joined the AHL’s Albany Devils and had two points (1g, 1a) and a +3 rating in nine games at the end of the season.
