ROCHESTER, NY – Former captain Andrew Miller (Chicago, IL/Chicago Steel) of the RIT men’s hockey team will head to the 2016 Vancouver Canucks Summer Development Camp, which runs from July 4-7 in Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia. He is the third RIT player in the last two summers to compete in a National Hockey League development camp.
Miller appeared in 31 games for the Tigers in 2015-16, tallying a career-high 11 points on four goals and seven assists and was plus-3. One of three captains, Miller helped lead RIT to its second consecutive Atlantic Hockey Championship and earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Miller scored the game-tying goal late in regulation in the Atlantic Hockey Semifinal against Air Force, a contest RIT would eventually win in overtime.

Overall, Miller recorded 33 points on 15 goals and 18 assists in 136 career contests for the Tigers. He was named to the Atlantic Hockey Championship All-Tournament Team in 2015. He was part of two Atlantic Hockey Championship squads (2015 and 2016). Last month, he earned his bachelor’s degree in business management.

“Andrew has worked extremely hard for this opportunity,” said RIT head coach Wayne Wilson. “As a graduate of RIT, he should be proud of his efforts here as they have opened some doors for him as a professional athlete. I’m sure Andrew will show Vancouver what he has to offer and hopefully that will lead to a professional contract down the road.”
