FREDONIA, N.Y. — Fredonia completed a weekend home sweep with a 5-4 SUNYAC men’s hockey win over Cortland.
Luke Rivera (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) scored a pair of goals and Ethan Kirbis (Clarence, N.Y.) netted the game-winner for the second straight night as the Blue Devils won their fourth straight game and moved into third place in the conference standings.
Victory Tracy (Stockholm, Sweden) and Colin Valentine (Turnersville, N.J.) also scored for the Blue Devils, who improved to 5-1-0 overal and 3-1-0 in the SUNYAC — three points back of Geneseo and one point back of Plattsburgh.
Eric Bogart (London, Ont.) made 29 saves and improved to 4-0 this season in the Fredonia net.
Alex Storjahann, Martin Lavilee, Mike Sciore, and Shane Beaulieu scored for the Cortland, which trailed 3-0 before rallying late. The Red Dragons fell to 3-5-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the SUNYAC.
Saturday was the final home game of 2018 for the Blue Devils, who’ll play at U. Mass.-Dartmouth next Saturday.
