FERDONIA, N.Y. — Neumann’s Mike Davis scored the tying and winning goals Saturday to down Fredonia, 4-3, in overtime at Steele Hall Ice Arena.

The goals were the 14th and 15th of the season for Davis. Nick Perruccio and Shane Topf also had goals while goaltender Mitch Wiebe made 34 saves as the Knights improved to 10-4-0.

Kyle Jelinski (Edmonton, Alberta), Jamie Young (Russell, Ohio), and Taylor Bourne (Calgary, Alberta) scored for the Blue Devils (5-7-2), who had a 37-35 advantge in shots.

Eric Bogart (London, Ont.) made 31 saves.

Each team had a goal waved off.

Jelinski opened the scoring at 1:02 into the game after a set up from Bourne. The play began in the defensive end as Marcus Ortiz (Richardson, Texas) patiently waited to pass to Bourne, who carried the puck through the neutral zone and cut across the offensive end along the blue line to create space for his pass to Jelinski, who notched his fourth goal of the season.

Neumann countered with Perruccio’s goal off a rebound before Young scored his first goal of the season following a shot by Frankie Hart (Timmins, Ont.).

A three-way rush led to Topf’s goal at 16:18 of the second period. With the teams tied 2-2, Bourne put Fredonia back on top with his seventh goal — a shot from in front of the net, where he was stationed alone.

Davis evened the score, 3-3, with 2:28 left in regulation with a shot from the slot with a defender in his face. He won the game with a power-play goal — Fredonia went down a man with four seconds left in regulation — with a shot from near the left post.

Fredonia is back in action Wednesday at Johnson and Wales in Providence, R.I., and Thursday at Western New England.
