“We gave a consistent effort for 60 minutes tonight,” said RIT head coach Wayne Wilson. “I was very happy with how we played on both ends, we did a great job shutting a good offensive team in Mercyhurst down. We are building momentum towards the playoff run.”

RIT kept coming in the third period, scoring two more times. McGowan netted his second of the game and 100th career point 54 seconds into the third period, as the Tigers were on a power-play, taking a perfect feed from Mitchell at the right side of the Mercyhurst net and roofing a shot past Bacon for his 16th goal of the season, making it 7-0.
