The first College Hockey America monthly awards of the 2018-19 season have been issued to Jaycee Gebhard, Terra Lanteigne, and Lauren Bellefontaine.
Player of the Month
Jaycee Gebhard – Robert Morris
Junior, Forward – Plenty, SK/Notre Dame Hounds
Jaycee Gebhard was the co-leader in the CHA in points for the first month-plus of the season, registering 13 points in 10 games played. She is also tied with three others in goals and one other in assists. Gebhard has two game-winning goals, leading all College Hockey America skaters, and seven power-play points. The seven power-play points were tops in the nation. She ranks sixth nationally in scoring with her 13 points.
Goalie of the Month
Terra Lanteigne – RIT
Junior, Goalie – Hatchet Lake, NS/Metro Boston Pizza
Terra Lanteigne has played tremendously well for RIT to start the 2018-19 campaign, posting a 2.07 goals against average and a 0.929 save percentage, marks that rank second and first in the CHA, respectively. She allowed one goal or fewer four times and more than three goals just once in her eight starts. Lanteigne posted a season-opening shutout victory over Holy Cross, making 25 saves in the process. She also posted a season-high 44 saves in a 3-2 overtime loss at St. Cloud State.
Rookie of the Month
Lauren Bellefontaine – Syracuse
Freshman, Forward – Kemptville, ONT/Nepean Jr. Wildcats
Lauren Bellefontaine has hit the ground running in her first collegiate season, leading Syracuse in scoring through her first eight games. She has seven points on four goals and three assists, with one goal going as the game-winner. That game-winner came in the second game of a road sweep against Lindenwood on October 20th. Bellefontaine ranks tied for seventh in the CHA in scoring and is leading rookie scorers by a point.
