The Georgetown Raiders had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over the Buffalo Jr. Sabres.

The win moved Georgetown to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

The Raiders’ penalty kill excelled, as Georgetown gave up zero goals despite allowing 10 power plays.

The Raiders were paced by Eric Eustace, who registered one goal. Eustace scored 13:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgetown. John Adams picked up the assist.

Georgetown forced Jr. Sabres’ goalies to work all game long, racking up 44 shots and forcing 39 saves. Alex Connal made 27 stops and Nate Skidmore made 12. The Raiders stifled Buffalo’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The defensemen of Georgetown were also effective in the Jr. Sabres’ zone, and came away with two goals.

Georgetown additionally got points from Steve Hladin, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Anthony Marra, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Georgetown also had goals scored by Thomas Welsh and Blake Jones, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Scott Emerson, who had one and Liam Clare, who had three.

Jack LaFontaine recorded 20 saves for the Raiders. Georgetown incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with 13 minors. Buffalo incurred 56 minutes in penalty time with 13 minors.
