Syracuse junior goaltender Jenn Gilligan is the CHA Goaltender of the Month for February, the league announced on Tuesday.
Gilligan went unbeaten in her five starts in February, rolling to a 4-0-1 record in the span. She averaged 23 saves per contest over that time and allowed just 1.6 goals per game, including just one goal against in four of the team’s contests.
Gilligan’s stellar play helped the Orange jump from fourth to second in the CHA standings during the month of February and clinch the No. 2 seed in the CHA Tournament.
The Orange will take on Penn State in the CHA Semifinal at Mercyhurst on Friday at 7 p.m. with the winner meeting either RIT or Mercyhurst for the CHA Championship at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
