NWHL fans,
This is the time of year we pause to reflect on what we’re thankful for. But to be honest, my teammates and I have been doing this every Sunday since October 11th.
That’s because every week, we have the opportunity to lace up our skates in front of thousands of NWHL fans who are as passionate about the game as we are.
All the women who came before us, they had to hang up their skates and find other career paths after their college hockey days were over. But in 2015, all of that has changed. Not only are we fortunate enough to have this opportunity, but we’re able to inspire others to follow along in our footsteps. I know there’s a big responsibility that comes with this opportunity; we need to make sure this league is around and thriving when the next generation graduates from college.
This Thanksgiving, I’ll be spending time with my Riveters hockey family from all over the world. Sure, we all miss our friends and family back home, but for this wonderful opportunity we have to play professional hockey for the first time in our lives, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. We look forward to seeing you again on Sunday. Tickets are still available for both our game vs. Buffalo (BUY TICKETS) and the Boston-Connecticut clash at Harvard (BUY TICKETS)!
With love,
Jenny Scrivens
