COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey today announced that goaltender Cayden Primeau (Lincoln Stars/Voorhees, N.J.) will join the U.S. National Under-18 Team that will compete at the 2017 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Men’s World Championship from April 13-23, in Poprad and Spišská Nová Ves, Slovakia.
Primeau recently completed his first season with the United States Hockey League’s Lincoln Stars. Primeau appeared in 30 games for the Stars this season and posted a 14-11-1-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record with a 3.16 goals-against-average and .895 save-percentage.
The Northeastern University commit represented Team USA at the 2016 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup (second place) and the 2016 World Junior A Challenge (first place).
Team USA, which has earned gold in six of the last eight world championships (2009, 20010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015), opens play against Belarus on Thursday (April 13).
