The Smith Family will hold its annual ACT fundraising event, Government House Open Day, on Sunday, 2 March 2008. It is a unique regional event held at historic Government House in Yarralumla.
This event provides a rare glimpse into the lives of the Governor Generals of Australia, both past and present. Now in its 10th year, Government House Open Day has established strong local appeal as The House and its 54 hectares gardens are seldom open to the general public. In the last two years, the event has attracted 4000 – 5000 patrons respectively.
Confirmed entertainers this year are Hayley Jensen (Australian Idol) National Capital Orchestra, Bordonian Dancers, Bordonion Heritage Dancers, DJ & The KarismaKatz, Strangeweather Gospel Choir and The Canberra Mandolin Orchestra, Bush Dancers Display Group and the Irish Dancers.
