CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton goalie Sam Walther turned aside 19 shots, and three different players netted a goal as the Continental women’s ice hockey team defeated Cortland, 3-0, in non-conference action Monday night. The Red Dragons fell to 9-8-1 with the setback, while Hamilton improved to 10-6-2 and split the two-game season series with the victory.

Freshman goalie Victoria Gibson (Essex Junction, VT/Vermont Shamrocks) made 20 saves for Cortland in the second start of her career.

Alycia Racicot, Hannah Bartlett and Megan Fitzgerald each netted a goal for Hamilton. Caroline Knop, Ianthe Lekometros, Olivia Hawes and Mairead Carey chipped in with one assist apiece.

After a scoreless first period, Racicot made it a 1-0 game at 15:20 of the second period, and Bartlett gave the Continentals a 2-0 lead just 36 seconds before the end of the period. Fitzgerald capped the scoring with a power-play goal at 16:44 of the third period for the 3-0 final.
