Three different players scored goals to lead the Hamilton women’s ice hockey team to a 3-0 win versus Cortland Friday afternoon in non-conference action. The Red Dragons dropped to 2-8-2 on the season, while Continentals improved to 3-4-1.
Freshman goalie Kelly Farinella (Marlton, NJ/New Jersey Rockets) registered 39 saves for the Red Dragons, and goalie Tori Bogen stopped eight shots to earn the shutout for Hamilton.
Katie Parkman led the Continentals with one goal and one assist. Gigi Fraser and Stephanie Lang each netted one goal with Hannah Jaiven chipping in with an assist.
After a scoreless first period in which Farinella turned aside all 17 shots she faced, Fraser scored what proved to be the game-winner on the power play at the 14 minute, 49 second mark of the second period.
Parkman made it a 2-0 game on a delayed penalty with an extra skater at 12:20 of the third, and Lang sealed the win with an unassisted goal at 17:04.
