Freshman forward Darcy Henderson (Burlington, Ontario/Burlington Barracudas) of the RIT women’s hockey team, was named the College Hockey America Rookie of the Week on Monday, for the week ending Jan. 11, 2015. It is Henderson’s second weekly honor of the 2014-15 season.
Henderson stole an errant pass and then made a perfect feed to Carly Payerl(Kitchener, Ontario/Resurrection Catholic) for the eventual game-winning goal in the third period of RIT’s 3-2 win over Robert Morris on Saturday. She has four points on two goals and two assists in 22 games this season.
RIT is right back in action this weekend at CHA foe Penn State University.Saturday’s game from the Pegula Ice Arena gets underway at 12 p.m., whileSunday’s starts at 2 p.m.
