Hobart Weekend Preview (Nov. 14 & 15)

The Hobart College hockey team will play its first two home games of the season this weekend. The Statesmen host Nazareth for an ECAC West game on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m., and then square off with Utica for another conference contest in The Cooler on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 4 p.m.

 

Fans unable to make it to The Cooler can follow the action online with Live Stats. In addition, fans can watch this weekend’s game with All-Access Video. WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva) will also broadcast both games live.

 

The Statesmen bring a 2-2-0 overall record and a 1-1-0 mark in the ECAC West into the weekend. Junior Bo Webster (Aurora, Ontario) leads the team with six points on three goals and three assists. Sophomore Nick Bingaman (Paradise Valley, Ariz.) and junior Brad McBride (Lone Tree, Colo.) have each chipped in two goals and two assists, and junior Ben Gamache (Longlac, Ontario) has dished out a team-high three assists.

 

Junior goalie Lino Chimienti (Montreal, Quebec) has played three games in goal. He’s sporting a 3.37 goals against average and a .865 save percentage. First-year Frank Oplinger (Sewickley, Pa.) earned his first collegiate win in Hobart’s last game. He has a 3.00 goals against average and a .889 save percentage.

 

The Golden Flyers bring a 2-0-1 overall record and a 1-0-1 mark in the ECAC West to The Cooler. Ben Blasko leads the team with six points on six assists. Dominik Gabaj has notched three goals and an assist for four points. Don Olivieri has logged two goals and two assists for four points. Ed Zdolshek has played all 185 minutes in goal and is sporting a 2.27 goals against average and a .923 save percentage.

 

Utica brings a 1-1-1 overall record and a 0-1-1 conference mark into the weekend. The Pioneers travel to take on Elmira in an ECAC West game on Friday night. Dalton Carter has posted a team-high eight points on a goal and seven assists. Trent Samuels-Thomas has added four assists for four points. Brent Wold has registered a team-high three goals. Dylan Wells, Mike Taffe, and Cory Simic have each played one game in net for Utica.
